Kicker Rock - Leon Dormido Excursion
Kicker Rock, known locally as León Dormido, is an impressive volcanic formation just off the coast of San Cristóbal. It is the eroded remnant of an ancient tuff cone, split into two towering cliffs with a narrow channel in between.
The formation soars about 144–153 meters (480–500 feet) above sea level, creating a dramatic landscape both above and below the water.
Most tours set out early in the morning (around 7:30–8:00 AM) from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno or the nearby pier. The boat ride takes roughly one to one and a half hours.
Once there, the highlight of the excursion is snorkeling in the channel and around the base of the rock walls, where marine life thrives. Afterward, the itinerary often includes a stop at a nearby beach such as Manglecito, Cerro Brujo, or Puerto Grande for swimming, relaxing, or a short walk along the shore.
